We are an animal sanctuary offering homes to farm animals who have been mistreated, neglected, orphaned, no longer able to be looked after and lots of other reasons. Our animals will live out the rest of their days here at the farm with us. We have a cafe on site where we offer tea, coffee and cake and sandwiches. By visiting our cafe you are welcome to visit our animals for free.
We have 6 donkeys, Tigger, Annie, Derek, Margaret, George and Mildred. Our donkeys are cheeky characters that love nothing more than a fuss from people and will sniff and search your pockets for any hidden treats. They enjoy being groomed and petted and will often rest their heads on your shoulder and snuggle for a while before trying to steal a sneaky kiss! Our donkeys have some sad stories to tell about their past but here they are truly spoilt and looked after in the way they deserve.
We have 5 alpacas, Herman, Otis, Severide, Mouch and Indie. These fabulous creatures are so funny that they will put a smile on anybody’s face. Their fleece is super soft and fluffy and with their long necks make you want to hug them like a teddy bear. They are curious animals who just love a parsnip or two and will quite happily walk with you on a lead enjoying the countryside views.
We have 21 sheep on the farm. There are different breeds and each one has their own personality. Never let it be said that sheep are stupid because they most certainly are not as they can be quite naughty and know how to make their demands known. Most of the sheep have been bottle fed as lambs from birth and so are not afraid of people and will quite happily come up to you to let you scratch their backs. Look out for Roy when you come as he is our biggest sheep with the biggest personality.
Our 2 pigs are called Sir Oinks A Lot and Sir Spam Im Not. We had these brothers from Greenacres Rescue as they had been living in someones house who thought they were micro pigs but then they grew into the big boys they are today! They love attention and will roll over for you to rub their bellies.
We have lots of chickens on the farm that we have rehomed from fresh start for hens which give battery chickens a new lease of life. We love seeing how these chickens come to us disheveled, scared and sad but develop into fluffy, healthy chickens who produce beautiful eggs.
This is Pony Soprano and Alcapony both brothers who are a year old. They are playful, naughty characters who like to nibble pockets and zips. Their favourite past time is to run around the field as fast as they can playing zoomies with each other.
Jasper & Jeremiah our 2 Angora goats came to us from Greenacres Rescue as their owner sadly lost their land. They are very cheeky goats who will try their utmost to escape from the paddock and are often seen being chased around the farm by us trying to get them back in!
Our 2 Pygmy goats Titan and Trinity came from our neighbours whose bigger goats were picking on them. Trinity suffered a stroke when 3 weeks old and so walks with a little tilt to her head.
In addition to the farm animals we have 4 dogs and 15 cats living here. Most of the cats are rescues but are the most curious loving animals who will rub around your legs and come to sit on your bed if you let them.
